Aidez-moi SVP: Purchasing a PC in France

Greetings all,

I want to help my sister-in-law who lives in France replace her 10 year old PC with something current. When it comes to computers, she is computer illiterate. So, I plan to find a few potential candidate systems via the Internet and preconfigure them for her, and then let her choose which to buy. I was planning to look at 2-3 international vendors like DELL where I can review their general offerings on the USA business site and then go to the France business site and make comparable selections. (my French is sufficient to do this)

What Internet (mail order vendors) for PC (desktops) are most popular in France? Which offer the best features/price and the best service/support?

My initial inclination was to begin with DELL (with exception of the recent laptop battery recall), they seem like a relatively safe company to do business with.

Thank you.

A lot of command on http://www.ldlc.com/cat/140092.html and no problem.

LDLC is the French leader, but out of 3 commands I had one pb with them. They eventually fixed it though and I got a voucher.

DELL is more explensive but safer.

It was pretty easy. I first ran through the base system selection and configuration on the USA site. Then, I repeated it on the French site (about 85% the same options). I have printed the configuration/options and will FAX it off to my sister-in-law.
