Well, I was just checking some news when I found out that the director of the new Conan movie have decided to replace this:

With this:

The samoan Jason Momoa will be the new Conan...
What were they thinking??? :8o: :grr:

This is a sad day for all men, the icon of barbarian masculinity has been destroyed :( ... my favourite action movie when I was a child will be transformed in a new Twilight saga??... :non: :(

NOTE: Obviously, this is a funny thread... I am not trying to be serious in any manner :mdr: :mdr: :mdr:

Unfortunately, all changes so quickly in our world. :D
As a reminder, don't forget that this "Barbarian" icon is now a Republican California governor !!
Furthermore, he maybe has supervised the choice of the next Conan, due to his comfortable sight on Venice Beach !! :)

Good topic of the utmost importance, thanks Generalisimo!

On an mostly unrelated note, I can only advice people to watch Legend of the Seeker. A very good heroic fantasy show ;)

Uhh, the "shoot first, ask afterwards" guy from Stargate. What's next? A remake of Red Sonja starring Kathryn Janeway?

shhhh... this is a secret campaign to attract women to this forum... if not, why would you think it is full of pictures of semi-naked men? .... :mdr: :mdr:

Now being a bit more serious (just a bit more only), when I was a child, I loved both Conan movies, even with the pathetic (dis)ability to "act" by Arnold (if you can call that acting :blink :) ... and this made me a bit sad... :( :neener:

At least we will be able to understand Conan the surfer. Although the accent made Conan seem more of a barbarian compared everyone else. Quote "VAT DO VOU VANT FROM ME?"

But that's exactly why the first ones are good... because you BELEIVE Arnold IS Conan The Barbarian thanks to his inability to act during the whole movie.

Well, he didn't get much better in the other movies either. But then they didn't cast him for his mind. :mdr:

Not to mention his post-acting career... Though I don't think even Superman could govern California nowadays.

Ooooo...

Can't say I agree. Guess I could say it's the best fantasy show on TV these days, but that's only because I don't seem to recall any good ones. It's not that Legend of the Seeker is bad per se, just not half as good as I'd first expected. I was never a big fan of Terry Goodkind either and this series once again like a Robert Jordan rip off. I guess everyone should make their own opinion, it's certainly worth watching the occasional episode...

P.S.: Hated all the previous Conan the Barbarian movies and never could stand Schwarzeneger (now I wonder whether that name is really spelled that way, as for the first time I see a rather odd meaning in it). So maybe a samoan surfer in that role would be an improvement to me ;-) ...

Heretic!!! burn him!!! :grr:

:fleb:

Really, "my" image of Conan is a big barbarian that break skulls using brute force... seeing a samoan surfer on this role is quite... "disturbing"  :D
If they wanted a samoan, I would have preffered to see The Rock in there... at least he has more experience (The Scorpion King, etc).

But, today I was looking at who were the candidates...

the winner, our friend Jason Momoa...
Image

The runners up...
Kellan Lutz from Twilight...
Image

Jared Padalecki from Supernatural... :w00t:

So, Arturo was right all the time... the idea behind this movie is to attract the "young women" (or should I say teenagers?? :wacko :) to the Conan franchise  ... this is a sad day... :(

The original was just that, original. It was so lame, so bad, it was awesome. In no other movie, does the lead get totally wasted and knock out a camel. How do you ever top that?

I'm always right when its about something "young women" related :neener:  :D

PD: Generalisimo, please stop posting half naked men pictures!!!!
We are on a manly wargamers forum!! :mdr:
Who's gone be Valeria in "Conan the surfer"?? do you have some half naked pictures of her around?? ;)

It is all a master plan to attract teenagers to this forum... soon we will be flooded by comments of Twilight and things like that... :p ompom:  :D

Now, about the woman character... well, who knows... the only role confirmed so far is Jason Momoa as Conan, nothing more... :bonk:

No problem, any half naked woman picture will do (even if she is not going to be casted for the film ;) :D )
You have to compensate! This thread is getting soooo gay
Cheers!

Ok, ok... I will do this ONLY because Arturo asks for it. :D

Let's just supose that following the same producer "idea": get the most teenagers you can to see the film, the best choice for Valeria would be something like this... from Transformers and Jennifer's Body:
Image
Oh my God, this girl loves to be in underwear... I had to "google" a lot to find some "postable" picture of her... :mdr:

That's a perfect combo to get a lot of teenagers (and probably others too :siffle :) just like the producers wanted...

"Mongol General: Wrong! Conan! What is best in life?

Conan: To take away their boards, see them before you without a tan, and to hear the lamentation of their chicks dude."

No clue how it'll go, they can make anyone look impressive in movies these days, though I can't get the Keanu Reeves Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure voice out of my head looking at that guy.
