Question 1:

I've been banned/ I can't register, the servor does not accept my e-mail, I did not received the confirmation mail, What's going on?

Answer: AGEOD forum is being targeted by a bunch of Spaming robots. I've been obliged to enforce a quite severe protection policy that might be troubling you. Please send me an MP and I´ll fix that.

All advice for protecting the AGEOD forum by fellow forum managers are welcome. :coeurs:

If you used Hotmail as your email adress for registration, please be aware that AGEOD confirmation e-mail is most likely to be in your Spam box...

Question 2:

What do these green bars below Users location mean?

Answer: This bar symbolises the user reputation. The longer, the better (size matters). If a user with a good reputation level gives you a piece of advice or an answer, you can assume it is a good one.
All AGEOD staff members have the maximum reputation. Beta testers have usually a level 3 or level 4 reputation.

Question 4: How can I give reputation to someone?

Answer: At the top of each post, there is a small white balance icon. Just click on it. The more you are an active user on this forum, the more reputation you give when you find a post usefull.

Question 8: Thanks for this FAQ but I had questions about the game it self...

Answer: For gameplay aspects, you can post your question in the BoA Council room, many veteran players will be glad to help you. There is also a FAQ here(updated any time now...) and a thread about the game mecanisms here

If you have a technical problem, you can report it here. AGEOD team is doing a "customer support" job I wish other companies to find inspiration in.

Question 10: How can I become an AGEOD beta tester?

You can send your application to Pocus, he is still recruiting highly motivated and active BoA players.

However, be warned, there is no dullest thing than beta testing. :non:

Betatesting is NOT:

- A job
- Playing to the game before everybody else
- Designing a game

If you are an expert with the BoA game engine
If you are active on this forum
If you have a taste for history and archives research
If you don't mind proofreading dull maps and long list of names...
If you are ready to spend hours testing every possible stupid things a newbee might try without concern for your own pleasure
If you don't mind stopping a good game because you noticed a tiny and painless bug
etc.

Then you might have what it takes... :cuit:

Once again, if you're not highly motivated, just don't bother. AGEOD developers need people to help them for 2 or 3 monthes periods, not just once or twice.
80% of the first beta team had quit before BoA was released. In fact, 40% just never came back after they realised they were not going to be able to "play" immediately with the game. :tournepas

Having said this, the atmospere is friendly, you get to know Pocus better (though I don't know if it's a real catching argument? :innocent: ), and it's an interesting experience. We also tend to specialise, some check historical background stuffs, others love to look for bugs, loopsholes, etc...
You take part in a collective adventure and help to get the game of your dreams about your favorite period (all beta testers names are credited in the game manual). :cwboy:

Question 11: Is the AGEOD forum being moderated?

No.

I destroy some spam messages that managed to get through. Spammers get immediately banned. I also clean some empty posts due to wrong manipulations. This is quite rare.

Most of the time, I just move some threads to their correct places in the forum and help forum members (or the most web adverse members of the AGEOD team :siffle: ).
