Anybody bought ROP on Steam ?

Thu Apr 25, 2013 5:23 pm

Hi there,

We would like to test an upgrade patch on a Rise of Prussia bought on Steam. If you have such a version, please contact us, and you'll get the upgrade patch to ROP Gold for free :neener:

THANKS!

I have RoP on Steam, but have been playing a patched version from a duplicate folder. If I can test an update for the Steam version (still installed) for you, let me know.

Oddly enough, I'm browsing the forums whilst copying PoN across from my Steam folders, so that I can also patch that up to date ;)

Hehe, yes this is quite convenient, copying the game and use it with external patches.

So you anyway confirm that copying ROP to another folder is ok, the game is operational. What about patching it, are the Ageod patches finding your new copy (I doubt that), are they finding the Steam copy (I think so)?

Baris has replied he also has a copy, so we will see with him, in case of trouble I may ask you to help us if this is ok with you.

Yes, my RoP works perfectly from a separate folder, but I have been running it directly from that folder after patching (ie: not now using the Steam version, even though it is still installed). I have 1.04a but only 1.02 on Steam.

However, I noticed something interesting with PoN. After copying the file structure and directly updating the copied version, I opened the old Steam version to make a quick comparison and found it was now also updated, from 1.02 to 1.03 - interesting!

The additional PoN quickfix 1.03qf however, has applied to the separate version only.

By all means, if I can assist further, just let me know :)
