Anyone ever try to play AGEOD games...

Drunk? Pretty interesting experience. Just you try and form up a division in Nashville while under the influence for 6 shots of rum and coke! :neener:

After losing the entire western theater, I finally took one more shot and surrendered. They can have the Mississippi, just give me whiskey river...

Happy weekend!

On one occasion and after probably too many brews, I decided that failure was not an option and virtually annihilated the French Army during a Grand Offensive in World War One Gold. Should perhaps mention that I was playing as the Entente...

Cheers for the weekend back at you.

Recently playing RUS - DNO scenario as the German side and was doing fairly well up to this point - I got an updated file late one Friday night from my opponent. My mind had been pondering the forces I was massing toward Smolensk over a few glasses of good Scotch and a cigar.
Eagerly I launched the game. It was late winter/early spring and the ground was shifting back and forth between frozen and thawed. Clear the previous turn, I moved my forces into position, now the ground again laid covered in white.

I stumbled forward - oh what the heck, as I raised my whiskey glass once again that evening. Lets just root those Red Devils out of their hole.
BAM -10NM loss battle resulted (plus a few other disasters across the map).

I can't think of a time when I didn't play AACW under the influence. It allows me LARP as Grant (yes, yes, too easy, I know)

I've managed to lose most of the Swedish Army in RoP when 'playing under the influence' - its surprising what a difference too much wine makes to your judgement and to lead to vast amounts of over-confidence

After sobering up it was fun to go back and see what I did, and also to read some of these replies here. Gives me a laugh. AGEOD games are REALLY hard to play well with a few drinks in ya. The logical part of the brain that is needed in deciding where to send troops, what supplies to issue out, what cities to hold or take, that entire part of the brain is just turned into a disabled, drooling idiot. But hey, it's fun. If drinking alcohol and doing things while under the influence wasn't fun, no one would have invented half the sports we play.

Next weekend my goal will be to slam 8 or 9 beers and then march Lee's army all the way to New York city. With nothing but cavalry. Yee-freakin'-Haw!
