IMHO currently the battles are very frustrating, as the casualties are really low, and thus one cannot decisively hurt the enemy. Please find attached a good example of this: the AI had multiple units in Dünamünde against my superior stack (later joined by another stack), and during the resolution phase there were a total of 8 (!!) engagements, during which the AI kept losing only a handful of men. Some battles even lasted the full (?) 5 rounds. To make matters even worse, in the end there are still a few enemy units remaining in the province.
Even when two bigger stacks engage (both in offensive posture) the end result seems almost invariably that both lose a few hundred men and the other side retreats. I find this annoying and unrealistic.
