Fortified Cities

Sat Dec 16, 2017 1:54 pm

Hello,

I have a question regarding foritified cities or castles. How do I know if a castle needs a unit to defend it? It happened to me quite often now, that a castle was taken by the enemy in the moment they entered the county, because no garrison was formed. Even castles with a wall strength of 3 (Newcastle for example). On the other side, even unfortified towns sometimes form a garrison. Is this as intended or maybe a bug? It is kinda weird that a castle with strong walls is taken by the enemy consisting of just one cavalry unit.

You need 51% loyalty for the auto garrison to kick in. So I leave a unit in the fort as it builds loyalty. Incidentally, the unit will also hasten the loyalty conversion.

Ah, thank you, Durk. I somehow seem to have overlooked that skimming through the manual. Makes planning a lot easier now :)
