So new game - fresh install plus latest official patch (1.01 from memory). I host. Receive HRE ORD file. Put it in save next to computer generated Prot ORD and HST files. Run turn but being done by AI even though no AI warning.

Any ideas?

Admittedly a bit odd. Did you see the normal AI run dialogue? That is, the minor nations not yet at war?
Without the red paperclip of earlier games, it is hard to see if both factions have new ords.
As I have never seen the behavior you report, I can only speculate, but my guess is your opponent created an ord but did not actually save.

Reinstalled game etc but no difference. PBEM player sent his HRE ORD to me, put in save next to my PROT ORD and HST. Looking at the save file there is an icon on my side but not on opponents side.

Print screens attached.

Any ideas?

The ''-'' in Pergatory-HRE should be replaced by a ''~'' like in Pergatory~PRO.ord.

It is a rare PBEM issue, you should be not using the same OS native language as your opponent.

Hope it helps

Thank you - well spotted.

What do we do to fix - won't a new _HRE ORD be produced every turn?

Also what doe this mean: you should be not using the same OS native language as your opponent?

Regards Angus

AFAIK, there is no way to fix it, you will have to rename your opponent .ORD each time you want to process the turn.

Maybe the devs have a better solution.

By OS native language, I mean you have a french Windows OS and your opponent has a bengali one,

Ok - I'm in US English (the number 1 English!) and my opponent is an Aussie so some form of guttural English. But both English.

We found that the '-' was converted to '~' by Dropbox. Using email has solved this it so far.
