French Neuchatel Brigade 1805 Recruitment (17th February patch)

Wed Feb 17, 2016 8:23 pm

Hi

It's turn 2 of a Jan 1805 start as the French, and the Neuchatel Brigade is unable to be recruited, although the recruitment area centres on Geneve. Is it the date? Does it become available for recruitment once certain conditions are met? Any thoughts and comments on this subject would be welcome.

Will come via Event, plus need some fixing in fact (because Neuchatel has no city/town now, it prevents the 'exact' location recruitment)

Ah, o.k. that makes sense, historically. It's the same for the French Swiss Brigade 1805, as well. Thanks for the quick response.

With March 9th patch, there is no región to recruit Neuchatel brigade.

Will check that, it should not be the case, any Swiss city should work...I suspect there is an issue with the "nationality" of the region, as they are owned by Switzerland and not France...I will need to 'fix' that by allowing recruitment in French owned regions...in theory, it should work in Geneva.

Yep, Neufchatel brigades in Besançon or Mulhouse and Swiss brigades in Geneva would be the best solution.

For some reason the Swiss regiments are recruitable in Bayreuth from 1807. Hope that helps...

Thanks for the info but I see no reason why... unless (a possibility) Bayreuth becomes French at that date (and is not before)...the information of where a unit can be built has no time constraint, so the date would never interfere. What can interfere however is ownership of a region.

indeed it quite weird as it does not happen straight away after capture (which normally happens in 1806) but rather in 1807. Maybe it requires that the region becomes partly loyal to France or something (never really looked close at the why - was too happy to recruit the remaining Swiss brigades :thumbsup :)

BTW discover a minor bug with the Dalmatian brigades (the line not light brigades). These are supposed to upgrade but don't as they seem to have a constant 'upgrade to line infantry' path. So even when they do 'upgrade' and this is even noted in the events section, they actually remain the same.

Not sure if anyone noticed this or even understood what I'm trying to say... :bonk:

Noted. Probably no actual upgrade because they upgrade to themselves (i.e. they don't change). There is no 'veteran' version of those models because they are already so. There should be a fix in the DB to forbid all upgrade at all, in order to avoid the useless message. Thanks for spotting.
