Me too. I don't want historically implausible outcomes (Bavaria conquers Europe!). But especially when playing multi-player it would be great to have more flexibility for negotiating and bargaining with the other major powers. Napoleon was very good at this sort of expedient diplomacy... although eventually it left him with no allies. Currently i feel that my hands are tied to certain events firing. I would like more a sense of being master of my destiny than being rail-roaded into historical alliances. More flexibility when making peace deals would be very welcome... the number of regions... the length of the peace etc... moderated by war score. There could even be two game modes. A strict historical track and a more open "what if" approach. These could be selected from the options menu at the start of the game.
