British Sharpshooters

Playing GB I got the "SHarpshooters" upgrade early in the game. It is now June 1805 and no sharpshooter brigades or regiments are available to build.

The rifle battalions are already in the game, one in each light brigade.

One of the unfortunate things about the new engine is the inability to build your own forces, unlike CW2. That was a lot of the fun for me.

Are existing light brigades automatically upgraded when you get sharpshooters or just new brigades? Also GB does not have any units called light brigades. They have rife brigades and infantry brigades.
