I just purchased Napoleonic Wars on Steam.
It won't open.Manual works, but when I try and play I get this message:

The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_43.dll was not found. Reinstalling may solve the problem

I have TYW and play that without problem, I also am playtesting a 3rd Ageod game, so don't think my system is the issue.

What do I need to do?

You are right, it is likely an install problem. Not sure about Steam, but it is always helpful to run AGEOD games by giving your computer admin privileges.

I had the same problem and went back to my non steam version. NEver could get the Steam one to work even with the Admin start up. Glad it worked though.
