What happens to your troops in ennemy territory after peace ?

Hi guys, I talked about it in the PRessburg thread but am making a specific thread because this is driving me crazy : My question is simple and i'll use the Pressburg example but it applies in all circumstances :
What happens to my troops deep in ennemy territory after peace is signed and cities are reversed to their owners ? how are they supplied ? To they get benefits of cities in terms of attrition ?
because I just signed (or rather manipulated the austrian side to make it happen) the PRessburg treaty and low and behold my troops are deep into austrian territory in middecember with no control of cities anymore and the land turning to snow and blizzard.
What the f*** am I supposed to do ? Walk through the snow back home and suffer teh consequences ? Wait there and watch my supplies dwindle to oblivion ?
There might be something clever to do or there might be special rules, But I couldn't find them in teh diplomacy bits of the manual, and so far haven't had an answer.
Does anyone from the dev or Beta or anyone else have an idea of how this is supposed to work ??? Am i suppose to always wait for spring before I sign a peace treaty ??

Peace gives you 24 weeks Passage Rights. I guess you start walking, or declare war on someone else and go capture a city......
Long marches in Passive mode with supply units will help reduce attrition.

Ok thanks. Yet passage rights do not allow you to draw supplies luckily so I f***** up royally signing peace with the Austrians in december with my troops deep into Austria. I mean What the hell am I supposed to do with 2 corps in Krakaw and 2 in Pecs in mid december ????
To be honest, this sucks, I don't know how the game should model this but troops shouldn't find themselves stuck deep into ex ennemy territory with no supply source at the beginning of winter. There is a gampeplay issue. Sadly I can't go back early enough (because I let several weeks go to see if the Pressburg piece worked or not....) to NOT sign peace, so I'll just have to shelve this game I suppose..
But until from now on I'll know that I should retreat my troops a lot BEFORE signing peace or wait for spring....
Thanks for taking the time to answer though.

Thanks, but supplywise, how does it work ? because that's the big issue in winter. the occupying force should be able to draw supply so as to avoid movement in snow or blizzard for example.

It should be giving foreign access, so you can pull supply through Austria. This also enables using Austria as a staging area for incursions into Ottomans or Russia.

It's a simple fix to change from passage to foreign access. Passage is useless unless you have about 50 supply trains and even then, how long can you mount a campaign without supply sources. Supply access and passage access could easily be dropped from the game. it's really foreign access (which includes both) that's critical. Supply access without passage is a waste. Passage without supply is a waste.

Yep, agreed. at the very least peace treaties should give passage AND supply.

Yes we will add that in 1.02 public beta patch. It should be out soon... And 1.01 official is due today, baring major alien invasions over Epsom.
