Prussian campaign - balance ?

Thu Dec 03, 2015 7:00 pm

Much to my surprise, I won the prussian campaign with the Frenchs after... 2 turns :

Current morale win level is very easy to reach. One battle won can get you up to 9 NM. I had a few big one during turn 1, then smaller and easier battles during turn 2. This one got me 9 NM :

That's probably too much and the scenario is over before you even get to see any Russian. Maybe tone down the NM for winning battles ?

Reaching 160 morale in 2 turns is still quite impressive, I did not manage that in my walk through...

I was able to beat it in three turns. So while I am not as good as Nico165, I think I agree with him that this may need a patch.

In fact it seems your results are very historically accurate... in reality, it took Napoleon only 19 days since campaign start to overrun Saxony, completely trash the prussian army on Jena and Auerstedt and take Berlin.
So in game terms he "won the scenario" on two and half turns ;)

I bet playing the prussians against the IA will be more interesting

Regards!

Except I never got anywhere near Berlin. The scenario is 19 turns long. Just seems strange to make a scenario that is that long, yet as easy t beat as it is. As soon as I can, I will attempt as Prussia, but if I lose NM this quickly for losing battles, I cannot see it lasting much longer.

Yep. I checked what happened historically and I was on the same pace. 60.000 losses vs 100.000 is good but not extraordinary. I don't think it should be possible to win this scenario only by beating the prussian army.

9 NM win should only happen for the biggest battles. In the example above, I got 9 NM to beat a 23.000 army which had already suffered on the previous turn with a 80.000 one. As you start with 110, 6 battles like this one are enough to win the scenario.
