Scrollbars are a pain

Fri Sep 26, 2014 6:06 pm

  1. Much too thin!
  2. Far too imprecise!
  3. Often react too slow, to clumsy!

Use middle mouse button and only use scrollbars as backup...

Open Regions (F8) and scroll, using the middle mouse button, from top to bottom.
Tell me now how fun it is..... :(

True. I don't use the regions list as you though, I filter on some criteria then do a sort and check the first entries (highest power or highest supply), so I don't check all regions :)

I am still of the opinion some would appreciate it if you would work on these 'lame and tiny' scrollbars.
Aren't the keys page up/down possible?

Keys for up and down would really be nice!

Exactly. Page Up/Dn and Arrows would be awesome. I know they are used for map controls, so what about either:

1. As with middle wheel, if the mouse is in the message box, the keys do not work on the map but instead on the message box
2. CTRL-Page Up/Dn and arrows are for the message box.

Excellent idea.

Update: Key down and up will work to scroll one entire page at a time. Plus tooltip added to scroll bar describing the three methods of using it. And some typos fixed (autonomy > self-sufficiency).

Not sure it will make in official patch though, sorry. Too late.
