Locking Stacks

Sun Nov 20, 2016 4:45 am

After playing several test and trial games I've come to the conclusion that it is critical to lock each stack against unplanned merges. If left unlocked stacks are constantly merging, causing all kinds of disarray.

To lock / unlock I right click on the stack's tab.

Yes, this is one tactic. The other is very careful movement. Stacks merge only by a movement you do. If you check and are careful, they do not merge.

You may also use [Ctrl]+L to lock/unlock all the stacks instead of one by one.

Durk:

I've found that if I don't lock all my stacks that after a major battle the engine will combine some of the stacks. I've got to go through them all to resort them then.

That is interesting. I do not remember this ever happening. I will have to see if I can create the conditions for this to happen. Being me, I usual have a corps with just a supply wagon after the battle is done.

I can see why locking is a better option for you.
