Entente Use of Japanese in PBEM

A question - the game doesn't place any hard coded limits on where the Japanese army and navy can operate once they join the Entente. This is generally true for all the units on either side in the game. In the past, I have generally adopted a self-imposed house rule to keep all of them in the Pacific. On the one hand, I am wondering if that is over-doing it, since no other nationality in the game faces such restrictions. On the other, I don't want to be gamey.
What have people generally done in PBEM? House rule? Anything goes?

I would keep them mainly restricted to the Asian/Pacific theatre. Although they would not be doing too much after capturing Tsingtao.
However, the IJN did send ships to the Mediterranean (a destroyer flotilla with one cruiser as leader) to work with the RN out of Malta and even had one torpedoed by an Aus-Hun U-boat, and some of their heavier units escorted troop ships from Australia and New Zealand to the Suez. They also participated in searching for the German East Asian fleet and the raider Emden. And finally they even transferred 12 of their destroyers to France.

I thought there was a mechanism that teleports Japanese units back if you try to move them out of the pacific area.........

Yes, they are supposed to transfer back (may not apply to destroyers, been a while, I'd have to check). Basically, if you leave the off-map Pacific areas with Japanese units, they should be teleported back to Japan via event. I'd have to research what's up if this isn't working properly.
