Meaning of the red areas

Dear EAW players,

I was wondering what the meaning is of the red areas around a selected army (see below)[ATTACH]37816[/ATTACH]

You are in a contested region with an ennemy army, so you cannot move from there to a region where you do not have a minimum amount of military control.

You need to defeat the ennemy first.
