Is it possible to search a general by name?

hi guys!
is there a way to find a general by name? some austrian generals of mine were reported to be ready for promotion. however, when I try to promote them the game warns me that another guy expects to be promoted first. well, fine and fair, i dont want to cross over somebody
but i cannot find him... the manual doesnt mention anything about finding specific units. when pressing "f1" i also dont see generals by name.
any ideas?

Unfortunately I don't have the answer. I do know however how to search for regions, press ctrl + f
