"Erklärungsstaffel"?

I've just started playing the game (looks great so far), but I have a question regarding the German squadrons... They are named "Erklärungsstaffel", and that doesn't really make sense. A direct translation to English would be "Explanation Squadron" and I am not sure what that's supposed to be 
Do they fly over the battlefield and try to explain why their Kaiser declared war?
Or was it supposed to be "Aufklärungsstaffel"? That does make sense, since it means Recce (Reconnaissance) Squadron.
There are also typos here and there, like the Scapa Fleet having "Summarines".
Just an observation, by the way. Not a game breaker certainly, but maybe someone might want to go over the in-game text and translations.
