Number of Armies

With the new beta patch ... how many armies is each GHQ allowed (specifically Germans)? On the eastern front, with Hindenburg, it doesn't appear there are any armies attached to him ... I keep looking for someone to promote ... but there aren't any. Secondly, can you demote a General and replace with him with a better one?

I'd be interested in knowing this as well. Prior to the patch I think the limit was the strategic rating of the GHQ leader plus 3. Has this been modified?

I think 8 armies. Not sure, anyway Eight per front is sufficient, a lot of CP is lying empty at the start, new divisions/corps can fill it up. And corps posted between 2 armies can hold the non-essential regions.
Important ones like Sedan or Lilee you need a army.

The previous formula was 3 + the strategic rating of the GHQ general. That has
been increased, but to what I don't know yet.

That formula doesn't seem correct ... it is Late Nov '14 and Moltke has 5 armies ... I have other 3 stars on the western front (though not within control) but they can't form armies. I do have Hindenburg on the eastern front as a GHQ. None of the other 3 stars in the east can form armies either.

Do they need to be within control range to form an army??

Yes, you need to be in control range. I RR my GHQ to areas where I can form armies. If a real long haul, I use repositioning.

As I stated, that was the OLD formula. It's been increased, but I don't know what
it is exactly now.

There should be no limit now.
