Schipping Box and Blockade Box

A nice system.
If I understand it right automate these boxes the block and shipping.

1. If I play as CP is the blockade box my trade area and EE blockade zone against me?

2. The Shipping Box is my blockade zone against EE and Shippingbox the EE?
Sorry for my naive question.
I have understood according to the manual so.

3. But I can for example also directly Introducing New York?
But make sure that I get Mexico as a partner to supply the ships.

I've heard that I can also manually provide additional transportation by ships my ships.
The same goes for the infantry through the supply trains.

4.How does it work?
Can I reload ammunition at sea or I can do this only because in each port.

Many questions. :bonk:

Regards

Michael

As CP, you don't get blockaded by the EE (unless they somehow pass your mines and go to the Atlantic or Mediterranean).

In a nutshell: you should probably send submarines and raiders to the shipping boxes and try to have a big battle to destroy the WE navies in the blockade boxes. I did not understand 3-4. What do you want to do exactly?

Hi Kensai,

sorry I mean not the EE sondern the WE.

To 3.:
Can I blockade a port directly?

To 4.:
Can I supply my fleet to sea on supply ships directly?
If so also with ammunition?
I can provide land units manually Supply Trains, who are included as a unit in the stack, or run automatically?

3) Due to the presence of minefields in front of most European ports I haven't checked whether close blockade like in ACW or CW2 is possible in EAW. But somehow I assume no, if in doubt, hower the mouse cursor over an enemy port if the CW2 style blockade is enabled you should get a message stating how many elements you need to place in which seazone to block that port.

4) I think so, in previous games you could send transports to a fleet at sea and resupply that way. Though fleets will lose cohesion the longer they stay at sea.

Hi caranom,

I understand your explanations.

P.S: Ich denke die Forumssprache ist französisch oder englisch? Meine Fragen sind oft speziell und schwierig zu formulieren, aber bisher habe ich mich gut durchgefragt und fast alles beantwortet bekommen. :bonk:

Französisch, Spanisch, oder Englisch.
Obwohl, sollten Sie auf die Beiträge Französisch Französisch-Forum beschränken: http://www.ageod-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?359-Quartier-G%E9n%E9ral-EAW

Google translate does a fair job. :)

I still have a mental block: sorry.

1.) Mediterranean and Atlantic Schippingbox = All merchant vessels? (CP, WE) or only WE?

2.)Mediterranean and Atlantic Blockadebox = CP / WE trade embargo against the other nations?

3.)Baltic Shipping Box = Merchant vessels CP, EE?

When I play CP:

4.)When I will attacking the WE merchant vessels I must go with my ships in the shipping or blockade box?

In which box send
a.) CP Merchant vessels.
b.) WE Merchant vessels

Thank you for help.

Best regards

Michael

All merchant vessels

2.)Mediterranean and Atlantic Blockadebox = CP / WE trade embargo against the other nations?

against cp nations

3.)Baltic Shipping Box = Merchant vessels CP, EE?

cp, not sure if ee has or can build merchant vessels.

When I play CP:

4.)When I will attacking the WE merchant vessels I must go with my ships in the shipping or blockade box?

Attacking we merchant vessels in the shipping box. The blockade box is what the WE is using to blockade the CP

In which box send
a.) CP Merchant vessels.

Baltic box. If I remember right, Austria and ottomans can't build merchant vessels. I did manage as the ottomans to capture one when taking a port city in Egypt and put it in the Mediterranean shipping box and it allowed me to ship supplies.

b.) WE Merchant vessels

put them in atlantic and Mediterranean shipping boxes.

I'd like to see a tool tip that recommends what to put in each type of box and from which alliance and what affects.

example: Baltic shipping box, you hover mouse and the tool tip says "put CP merchant vessels here for added money and war supplies. Put transport vessels from any alliance to ship supplies overseas" Or something along those lines.

I also miss an understandable explanation in the manual!

I've been looking at AGEOD games not serious about the war at sea. Even not with 'American Civil War - The Blue and the Gray' and 'Civil War II'.

But with 'To End All Wars' things have changed.

When I go to the box is at the Baltic Box only the geographic area,
and detection: 3

Let's see if I get this right.

To blockade the CP, the Entente sends battleships into the blockade boxes.
If the CP want to soften this blockade, the CP have to send also battleships into the blockade boxes?

Yes but im not sure that battle happens normally in any of the boxes. I'm not 100% on this.

The engagement process seems to be abstracted, while the actual battle occurs normally.

It would be great if someone did a primer that was Sticky on all naval aspects of the game.

Russian transport seems to do nothing in the Baltic shipping box.
I also attempted to send them to the Atlantic, but I had missed that their route went via the Nord-Ostsee-Kanal, and they were subsequently destroyed. I could of course try via the Skaggerak but decided to give up completely.
This feature is not well documented.

I suppose in the EAW no EE shipping vessels makes income.
I believe it is generated by land.

Transports only transport equipment. Merchants ship supply. The Russians
can't build merchants and even if you capture them they are useless to you.
Merchants and transports look similar but are very different.

Another question please.
Playing as CP i can send my blockade runners , and submarines only to the blockades boxes in Mediterranean or Atlantic seas , or if I can send for example to the South Pacific sea there will be effect to EE commerce as the same manner as I send to the blockade boxes?

Thanks
