Ww 2?

While I am really excited about the new WW 1 game from AGEOD, I am curious to know if a WW 2 game might be possible in the future? Would be interesting to see AGEOD's take on it with the AGE engine.

Funny that you mention this, kaiser, as this has been on my mind for a while as well. Nothing would please me more than for AGEOD to produce a WW2 game, even if it only dealt with a single theater or campaign (along the lines, for example, of Viktor Reijkersz's excellent "Decisive Campaigns" games), rather than the whole global conflict from '39-'45.

Plenty will say "no, no no! WW2 is done to death! we don't need yet another pc game devoted to it!" and they'd be right, of course. One of the things that has set AGEOD apart from other developers is its inclination to offer games around eras underrepresented elsewhere. Not many devs would bother to create games around the wars of Frederick the Great and the Russian Revolution!

A WW2 game based on the AGE engine would be tremendous. The flexibility AGE gives for organizing armies and combat forces would allow for some incredibly detailed OOBs -- that alone would be worth the price of admission.

I for one am looking forward to Paradox's Hearts of Iron 4, but I'd trade that in in a second for an AGEOD WW2 game! Perhaps we can always dream -- ? Maybe after a Napoleon's Campaigns sequel? :)

...and this...

btw I d be curious to listen from the Ageod s guys what are the realistic possibilities to have a WWII game with the Ageod engine ...since it s possible to have a WWI game with a dynamic East Front...and some planes..(a masterwork... :) ).well ...then you could think that such things , modernized ,obviously..,could be made......That seems easiest ,,,isn it ? :) :) :)

seriously difficulties were mentioned by the devs ,but don t remember the word "impossible "... Hey Phil & co ... give us hopes please... :coeurs:

and while you are making the Napoleon s campaign sequel ...and the WWII game ...all of us we ll be playing at To End All Wars :neener:

Yes sandman, I think I would actually prefer a single theater design, either european or pacific. A global WW2 game might be just too much to manage.

As for the argument that WW2 has been done to death, well maybe, but not with the AGE engine and wego turn resolution. I appreciate that they are willing to do other wars that you don't often see in computer games but I think a WW2 game based on the AGE engine would be unique.

I've never been able to get into the paradox games for some reason...maybe it's the real-time aspect, they seem to move too fast for me. Here's hoping that one day we will see AGEOD try their hand at WW2 :) Thanks for the response.

of course a single theater will be appreciated ,since the scope of the entire WWII would be enourmous...but we have to dream anyway :)

Let's see how it works as a WWI game first.

If the project is ever contemplated (and I have honestly no clue if it will), then the WW2 game will either have the scope of End of all Wars, units and map size wise, or an extensive revision of the engine will have to be done, so to not get a slow down, as in PON, which has been very detrimental to its success.

But it's still my favorite title that has been already launched. :D

Well I hope End of all Wars will be a big success for AGEOD and you will consider doing a WW2 game in the future. I think a WW2 game with the scope of End of all Wars would be a good way to bring new players in since WW2 seems to be the most popular subject matter for war games. Thanks for the reply and good luck with the new game.

I agree. Despite the fatal flaw of the engine being not big enough to handle the game, PoN is my favourite game. I just wish that I could play it.

PON is the greatest historical grand strategy game ever conceived. Just needs a new engine. Kinda like WWI Gold. If WWI CE pans out, perhaps there is hope that a new engine for PON is possible.

I'm very glad to hear from Pocus that an AGEOD WW2 game is not out of the question (which is not to say that it has been 'confirmed,' of course, but simply that it remains within the realm of possibility, which is good enough for me).

I agree though, let's focus on To End All Wars first! I personally can't wait for release. Day-one purchase, without question.

I agree completelly with you, PoN is Super. Let's pray that PoN will get the attention it deserves in the near future. :)

Too many WW2 games around and coming soon... no please I hope Ageod at least will stay far behind from that :)
I 'd really like a Sengoku Jidai game instead, obviously after NCP II of course ;)
