Only heavy artillery units consume ammo. Since you do not have heavy artillery in Africa, you 'll be fine...

And medium artillery, and ships.....

Yes, so it shouldn't really be a problem for the great von Lettow-Vorbeck. :)

It's good not to have lots of munitions in Africa anyway, artillery was practically non-existent (or effective due to difficulty transporting it) in Africa.

There is however one thing that did happen and quite successfully, KOENIGSBERG Ship was dismantled by Von Lettow's troops and its guns were used to great effect in many battles esp. in 1914. Those guns will surely be - Medium and Heavy Artillery, though their speed must be half of normal due to 'Africa'.
Theodor Von Hippel a young captain under Von Lettow, mentions this - later Von Hippel went on to successfully establish the feared commandos - 'Brandenburgers' based on his experiences with Von Lettow in Africa.

Shr: Was important but 10cm guns not heavy, maybe not even medium even though in East Africa they would count as such.

I really think it shouldn't say "Ammo Level: Depleted" for infantry and other units that don't consume the ammunition resource. It's bound to confuse a lot of players into thinking their infantry isn't getting the ammo it needs.
