End of game screen

Sun Dec 08, 2013 9:09 pm

As my game went to Jan, 1866 a small box appeared that read something like, "You've won a major battle." It had a screen showing an artistic portrait of Lee's surrender at Appomattox (which made sense because I just had a battle of 6,000 casualties versus 37,000, including taking 20,000 prisoners). I didn't get a box that the war was over and I had won, so I continued playing for another 12 turns thinking it wasn't over yet. I think maybe we need a better way of letting the player know the war is over (why can I still play the war after I've won anyways? You'd think the armies would be non-hostile at that point).

Is the message not "You've won a major victory" instead?

Ah, yes, likely it was... but it's still a very vague statement as I assumed that the message was referring to the major battle I had just won. Another 12 turns later, I finally realized that the game had been over for a while.

If you've already won the game, each time you load the game again as that side you should get a message stating that you have already won the game.

I agree the end game is not that climactic though :)
