Some ideas related to the game balance discussion

Im all for giving the Union the OOB it deserves, think it is mostly monetary/recruitment issue, hope the CSA also gets some tweaks.

But to the ideas.

I think Missouri and Kentucky need to be more contested issues, Union has to keep those states at all cost or risk defeat.

Add more NM losses to the Union for loosing Jefferson City, St. Louis, Louisville, Lexington and Cincinnati, maybe others?

Some cities/towns in Illinois and Indiana?

Maybe Kentucky should be possible to turn Confederate by invasion until some conditions are met by the Union?

The result should be that if the CSA threatens these the Union has to react, this is not Sherman breaking free from supply lines, Union has to keep these states under its control at all times.

I found that Louisville maybe needs some starting industry, the farms and shipyard at least?

I think the industry and agriculture regions spread out the war more realistically, they become targets and small side theaters, potential with those.

Please comment. :)

Just realized that this change in balance could lead to Grant usually staying in the West until it is secure. :w00t:

Maybe give CSA 1 NM for invading and the fort at Columbus or make it an event, Polk did that move partly on his own initiative.

If some of our historical buffs want to check, we might change some of these things then. It will have to be confirmed and discussed in the beta forum though. Thanks for the feedback!

This constraint could exist only at the beginning of the game, Union player will to think twice before gathering a 'black star' army
