In testing he MC bug, I ran a situation of McDowell attacking Manassas 10 times. I was trying to to understand the impact of the ROE (specifically Conservative and Probe).
In 100% of the cases, they ended up in the region.
QUESTION 1: If it is a probe, I'd be curious to get thoughts on whether the attacking force should always retreat back to the region from whence they came? My guts says they should, as it was a probe, not a full attack.
QUESTION 2: What about a conservative? I'm on the fence on this one.
Also, all five I ran with a probe resulted in one battle during the turn. Morale troop losses ranged from 6k to 12k.
When I ran it 5 times with a conservative attack, losses ranged from 5k to 8k for the battle, however, in 3 of the 5 cases, McDowell attacked again the second day.
QUESTION 3: What would cause a second battle in a conservative attack? Once they break off the battle with a lose, I expected they would change from offensive posture.
Finally, the NM impacts of losing these battles was very high. On one probe, 6 NM was lost.
QUESTION 4: Should the NM impact of losing a probe attack be lowered?
