McClellan disappearing without any message

Sun Oct 12, 2014 6:50 pm

Maybe I have overlooked something, but I can't find any messages. I think it starts happening in 1864: McClellan disappears.

Historically he ran for president in 1864, which may be the reason; he does disappear in 1864, but it seems to happen randomly, i.e. not tied to a specific turn.

I'm playing the 114 turn campaign starting April 1861.

Welcome to the forums JoshuaChamberlain. :wavey:

Yes, he is removed by event, but there is a random element to the event, so he doesn't always disappear at the same time (it's a 35% chance each turn in 1864).
Remember - The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Thank you for that. I had a hunch he was disappearing due to his presidential run, but I would suggest that it appears in the messages on the bottom right.

The event has text associated with it and should display in the log, but the description doesn't say much.

StartEvent = evt_nam_USA_McClellanCandidate1864|12|2|evt_txt_USA_McClellanCandidate1864|Event-img_USA_McClellanCandidate1864|NULL|118
(this event will fire for six months)

or

StartEvent = evt_nam_USA_McClellanCandidate1864B|1|2|evt_txt_USA_McClellanCandidate1864|Event-img_USA_McClellanCandidate1864|NULL|118
(this event fires the month after the previous one ends, and removes him without a probability check)

The hover text should say: -1 National Morale. McClellan removed from play.

evt_nam_USA_McClellanCandidate1864 is "McClellan Candidate" and other language translations of the same.
