Question about duplicates

How does the game handle duplicate names in model files?

For example, if I put the same block of unit names in all of the files from 163USAInfantry to 168USAInfantry and one of those unit names
also happen to exist in 169USAZouaves. Will there then be two units of different types but with the same name?

No, then engine is checking for uniqueness.
