CSA uber alles! - Tyrannical Tyler(CSA) VS. Vicberg(USA)

Wed Apr 13, 2016 7:42 am

1862, Late April

I have managed to push the Federals back into Maryland across the Potomac. Setting up a strong Defensive line from Harper's Ferry to Alexandria. I've got Thomas and Longstreet commanding corps on the Flanks, Johnston the Center until Master Robert arrives. No plans for pushing into Maryland in the foreseeable future unless I see more a lot of action out towards TN and assume the sent a lot of resources that way. I've also got Stuart destroying rails going in WV.

The Union managed to push me out of New Orleans, if I can't dislodge them I'm going for Maryland, all or nothing.

The west is pretty quiet, we will see if he gives me some leeway there.

First off, Sibley was able to Steal some supplies from the Union out west. Ha-Ha!

Mobile has fallen to the Federals. I'm going to start positioning myself to attack into Maryland. Was considering waiting for pontoons but I don't want to delay.

Grant and other forces are on the move in TN. Trying to EVAC and run a force through Union boats to Memphis. No time for delay. If I cannot make progress in Maryland I do not believe I have much of a chance of winning this war. I should have prepared tougher defenses earlier to counter those landings. At least I know he has dedicated a lot of troops to taking New Orleans and Mobile!

Organizing around AR for a possibly assault on Colorado area.

Large .bmp pics won't load. I do a Print Screen and then paste it to the Windows accessory program Paint. I crop the big picture and save the file as a .jpg. You can also add any feature like graphics or text to highlight the final product with Paint. Good luck with your game!

Windows Snipping tool is good for this too. It can be found in Start -> All Programs -> Accessories. Very good tool for screen shots.
I have heard, in such a way as to believe it, of your recently saying that both the army and the government needed a dictator. Of course it was not for this, but in spite of it, that I have given you the command. Only those generals who gain success can be dictators. What I now ask of you is military success, and I will risk the dictatorship.

Longstreets corp on the move getting ready to assault McDowells corp... or Pattersons command. It says Patterson's command, if he didn't stick a corp there he's in trouble. We will see.

Terrible situations around Mobile and New Orleans. Not really sure what's going to happen there.

Grant is on the move backed up by other Federal Forces, Hopefully he over extents, I am not entirely sure if I will be able to stop him anytime soon. I have to make a move sometime. Possibly Abandon Nashville for a push and attempt to retake it? Or focus on New Orleans? Decisions, decisions.

Gonna strike at Springfield, MO for now. Make a more calculated attack on Colorado later.

Nothing worth reporting around TX and NM.

Next turn coming up!

Decided to wait a turn or two for R.E. Lee to take command before assaulting McDowell. A pontoon would also be nice. Nothing worth screen shotting.

If I understand well the print screen of Kentucky, Polk is leading a 1111 force in Fort no 10 and you have given him a move order to Memphis. But he has a diagonal Brown line in the top right corner meaning there is a unit that can't move in his stack...

That line means he has a heavy artillery piece slowing him down dramatically

Managed to repulse the Federals in Nashville! Good news for the CSA.

Managed to win a Victory against McDowells forces in MD. Planning my next move in that theater.

Sent troops to the moving stack on accident, so the assault to retake New Orleans was delayed.

Here is the plan for MD. Knock McDowell out of range(hopefully) of marching to the sound of the guns with longstreet then move Jackson(I think, no pontoons in his corp...) to attack Banks.

Sending Polk to attack Grant. Probably a terrible idea but if I fail in New Orleans or in MD it's probably GG for the most part anyways.

The attachments aren't working, so I'm guessing that the plan is for Longstreet and Jackson to do a synchronized march on Baker with Lee perhaps MTSG. Baker seems to be the Army Commander for the Union line, which unfortunately means that the D.C. defenders might also MTSG to Baker's aid and get walloped by Lee's group of much better Generals. That would leave the door to the Union capital open. Good luck!

Who's Baker? I don't recall any Gen. Baker for the Union in the game, at least not this early. Banks, maybe?

You are attacking a force of the same strength entrenched in marsh terrain : I'm afraid you will need to gather more troops or accept the loss of NO.

Jackson and Longstreet are not starting in the same region so they can't synchronize their move. Lee and Longstreet can. And their is a good chance Jackson will MTSG.

Thanks for sharing your AAR with us. Why the change in game? This one was extremely interesting!
