It's been ages since I played this game, but looking for a new game. I am very rusty, so bear with me. Anyone up for one?
I'll go with either side, you pick
Eons ago I did an AAR, back in 2013:

Rusty as hell as well also. I visited this forum after a couple of years and stumbled on this post.
Amazing how people still play this gem.
I wouldn't be able for super fast game pace though.

Goes to show how rare a good strategic level CW game truly is.

Pleasure is all mine.
Anyway, is there a chance for Civil war 3?
I am pretty sure old guard would line up on the forum for it

Nobody knows really. Perhaps it can be decided that it will be the subject of the next game of the new series using the Archon Engine from Slitherine.

I know I'm not the only one looking forward to reading something more like this from Pocus... "Civil War 3. It has been decided that it will be the subject of the next game using the Archon Engine from Slitherine."

Pocus, out of curiosity, how much compatibility is there between AGE data and the Archon Engine? If there was a CW3, of course one would want to have a hard look at redesigning the game, but it would be a shame if some things, like CW2's map, couldn't be reused. It's such a lovely big sandbox. It's too bad there was never time to do some additional campaigns, like Plaines Indian wars or Napoléon in Mexico

Archon and Age engine are two completely different birds.
Think of it as difference as Civilisation 4 and 5 difference. It could be similar game, but would have completely different feel.
Completely different mechanics and visuals

That's funny, I greatly prefer civ4! It would be starting from scratch then. Thanks Ace
