Haven't seen a traitor since beta testing ;)

Back during beta testing I captured Norfolk at one time as the Union and it
seems that Buchanan decided to come back to the Union fleet. A bug that
later got fixed, but still rather interesting.

So, I took Baltimore playing against Athena and look who decided to become
a confederate. His brother, William Harwar Parker, was a Confederate naval
officer. Could they have swapped places? :sourcil:

Of course the real prize was a blockade fleet!

:dada:

Been too quiet on this forum lately. Thought it would be nice to share this.

Sweet!

Perhaps this is Athena's way of flirting with you.

Ahhh the war between brothers :siffle:

If you capture a fleet in harbor with a leader on it, you will also capture the leader. It's a known bug.

Always good to see a vet post again!

Hopefully many of you will like the new game in the making. I'll be honest, it is slightly less grognard than the previous AGEOD games, but god, you get a lot of cool stuff from it. For starter, an AI that runs 10x faster than before :)

Ah, that makes sense then.

What's the subject of the new game? I've been out of the loop for a while and must have
missed it. I hope you guys try to tackle a WW2 game eventually.

Oh boy. That means I'll be sitting over a turn for an hour or more, and Athena II will finish her magic in like 60 seconds on my computer :D ..... I'm starting to feel so old :pleure:

Been thinking about this. The two Phils have full rights to naming their new
engine, but I thought it'd be fun to come up with some suggestions, and since
it's the second engine we start with the next letter of the alphabet. So....

We could call the new engine Bremusa, after one of the Amazonian warriors.
Bronte is the Greek goddess of thunder. Bia fought with Zeus against the Titans.
There are lots of other non Greek warrior goddesses out there too. If we don't stick
with a warrior theme then Bastet, Goddess of cats would be something I'd like.

Just some thoughts. :hat:

ummm... there are no two Phils anymore. Phil Thibaut is no longer with AGEOD :(

As to Athena, Athena was coined by Aphrodite Mae, from my understanding, many moons ago. Ofc Pocus can choose a name as he wishes, but I think the forums will ultimately decide on her nom de guerre.

I may wind up calling her Kerrigan, Sarah Kerrigan, for ... reasons :siffle:

I was unaware there is only 1 now. Named after the Queen of the Blades
might be appropriate. :hat:

True, Captain, you are there several time a week, I saw that!

Actually Athena was a name I gave, in 2004. And hopefully the Good Queen will return, if only for an Hello, one day?

PhilThib has sailed to new ventures, and has been seen (not by me...) to a boardgames convention in Paris some weeks ago. He told me he will announce a few things in Spring... But you can always try to check his profile at BoardGameGeeks :hat:

I am a dullard with regard to popular culture. I finally get the Queen of Blades reference, but only kinda. Aphrodite Mae was such a force for positive good on this forum. Wish she could step into many of the cultural/political issues which have arisen since her departure from the forum.
Alas, change is always fraught with challenges. My best hopes go to all.
