Got 9 NM points for it. Felt like it took forever to process!

Union loosing almost 10 divisions at Washington doorstep, that would be a decisive CSA victory in real life and most PBEMs.

That is wacky. Look at the disparity in artillery. Rosy must have tried swimming across the Potomac during a snowstorm.

Rosencrans should have waited for you to cross. Who was this against? Athena? What is the NM of the Union?

It is an impressive battle and a sad day for the Union. I suppose it is the end of the young Republican party.

I should have mentioned it was against Athena. The Union NM is 78.

Nice, but a further illustration of Athena's problems dealing with major rivers : You can quite often generate such massacres at Alexandria or Fredericksburg because Athena pours in the troops without being able to get them out (between the lack of MC, the major river penalty) which leads to crazy annihilation. It is really frustrating because I have had many an interesting game with Athena ruined by this very problem.
