Where Can You See Victory Point Values of Strategic Cities?

I'm having trouble determining VP values for potential strategic city targets. I can't seem to find anywhere what each city is worth in VP terms. The manual says each strategic city is worth "1-3 VP's - the value being set for each scenario." How can you find out?

I bring up the strategic atlas and go to the "regions" tab and I see a column for VP's. BUT, not all the enemy regions are listed. I suspect that it has something to do with Fog of War, because some enemy regions/cities are listed but not all. I float the tooltip over a region/city, but it doesn't say anything about VP's. I'm tying to prioritize my targets, beyond the major Objective Cities and I'm in the dark what will produce the best results.

Is there somewhere you can see VP values? Am I missing something obvious here?

I just worked the numbers on this about two days ago. I counted the number of strategic and objective cities under my control then compared that to my VP gain per turn. After working the math, it appears you gain 1 VP per turn for strategic cities and 3 VP per turn for objective cities. Hit the '3' key to enable the map overlay that shows strategic and objective cities. Objective cities will pulsate; strategic cities remain highlighted but don't pulsate.

Those values ring a bell, somehow.

Thanks! I knew how to see which was which and where they were, but couldn't figure out the respective values. The Manual sort of implies that there could be cities with a value of "2" but I guess not.

The game engine provides the scenario designer the capability to assign 2 VPs per turn for objectives, but I guess Phillipe Thibaut went with either 1 or 3 VPs for everything.

In the Regions Ledger you can sort by a column labeled VPs. The CSA has several that show 2. I don't know why some are 2 though, I had thought it was 1 and 3 like above.

I did this, but unless I'm daft, It didn't seem like all the opponent's regions were listed. I thought maybe it had something to do with fog-of-war.

Regions are not all 1 or 3 Vps; they range from 1 to 4 (or maybe 5?). You have to check the Regional Ledger to see the tally.

You can't see ones your opponent has, but you can always open an 1861 game as the other side and check it out. The only ones that won't be in there are Tuscon and one or two others that "activate" as Objective towns by event, but I think they are are all worth 1 VP (though Tuscon, for whatever reason, is a 5 NM swing when it flips)

Q-Ball... great idea about going in as your opponent in the 1861 game to see where the VP's are. I never thought of that.
