Civil War II is not optimized for performance

Wed Sep 18, 2013 3:51 pm

Civil War II is not performance optimized - at least not for my PC.

• I own AGEOD games in which the armies glide elegantly over the map during the AI
phase.
In Civil War II, they almost beam from place to place. Very ugly to watch!
• The scrolling (scrolling by mouse left click to move the map) is much too fast and hard to control.
• 'Focus on Move' is too short.
• 'Battle Animation' is too fast/short.
• While the AI phase, the flags flutter much too hectic. Very ugly to watch and visual very irritaiting!
• Music volume can not be isolated adjusted.

Before I can find my way on my screen, already the next event starts.

It is not pleasant to watch the AI phase.
Most things goes: wusch-wusch-wusch.

Sorry, but first I have to ask the obvious.
Have you tried changing focus on move slider and battle animation speed in the options screen.

Yeah, of course.
I know it's strange that someone complains it's too fast, but ...

Well I have a new laptop and battle animation is fine on it.

On my old computer, anything slower in battle resolution would ruin the game.

So it is difficult to make a setting that fits all hardware.

Maybe slider could have a wider span in its effects.

None of the issues is a game breaker

Wed Sep 18, 2013 4:40 pm

I have a new PC.
Windows performance index 7.8.

Well, none of the above issues is a game breaker. :)

Nevertheless, I would be grateful someone could solve or improve the following issues:

• The scrolling (scrolling by mouse left click to move the map) is much too fast and hard to control.
The mouse control is very imprecise. :(

• While the AI phase, the flags flutter much too hectic. Very ugly to watch and visual very irritaiting!
The strong fattern is very stressful and tiring for the eyes. It almost hurts. :(

• Music volume can not be isolated adjusted.
Some want to adjust game sounds and music volume separately.

the 'focus on move' option can be adjusted too, from none to long delay.

For scrolling, if this is too fast, it is possible to change settings but it must be done by editing an option file, there is no in-game menu to do this.

The flags during AI can probably be frozen in place if you are several annoyed by that.
Music volume can't be adjusted individually, sorry. We use a sound library that can't do that.

I must say that the fluttering flags are very annoying to me too...

I also find the fluttering flags very annoying as well. They add an unpleasant aspect to playing the game. Please provide us with an option to freeze them.

Focus
I know. :)

Scrolling (scrolling by mouse left click to move the map)
At the moment it is to imprecise, to uncomfortable. :(

Flags
Maybe an extreme slow motion while the AI Phase would be also acceptable???
