The older Ageod games play fine and are slightly faster(compared to Win 7 on the same machine) running on Linux.
The newer Ageod games run but there are no units on the map. Theyre there but they aren't displayed.
How much trouble would it be to make the newer games compatable with WINE?

Usually that's Wine who goes compatible with Windows environment...
You must wait for Linux voluntary devs to make Wine up to date, that's the doom of Linux: free, but late.

Actually it does run under under wine. I was able to run Hannibal Terror of Rome on my Opensuse box ( I have wine 1.7.3 installed ). Units are visible on the map.
