Can't launch the game

Thu Nov 06, 2014 12:48 pm

Hi,

I just purchased AJE on steam but I can't launch the game. It give me the following error (in french) :

"Erreur D'application : Exception EInvalidOp dans le module atiumdva.dll dans 00084634. Opération en virgule flottante incorrecte".

The launcher works fine, as well as the AGESettings.exe.

Configuration is :
Win8.1 x64
I7-4770K 3.50Ghz
16 Go Ram
AMD Radeon R9 290X

Graphics drivers are up to date.

This is related to the ATI video card. I'll ask the Slitherine Help desk if they know more about it.

Have same issue, but after some time game starts as usual.
Can't say when exacly when this started to happen, but AJE(When I moved to Steam) and TEAW(with beta patch) throws this error message.
Maybe there was some common(TEAW Steam Beta Patch and AJE Steam version) update?

Ambrosios, what driver version you have?

Mine are:
Driver Packaging Version - 14.301.1001-140915a-176154C
Catalyst Version - 14.9
2D Driver Version - 8.01.01.1423
Direct3D Version - 9.14.10.01061
OpenGL Version - 6.14.10.13084

But I certainly remember, that three months ago I didn't have such issue.

Better to contact support@slitherine.co.uk as this is probably related to a drive. There was no low level change in the engine since quite some time.

I have exactly the same drivers versions.

I'm going to try with the current beta drivers.

Hey Ambrosios, do you have any progress on this issue?

I've contacted Slitherine support, but still no luck.

I've found that I have this issue with CW2, AJE & TEAW.
100% I didn't have this issue till installed AJE(Steam version. removing Matrix Games version).

Tried to use new ATI beta drivers, did Integrity check, Enabled/Disabled Steam Overlay, but issue remains :(

Finally found a solution with Slitherine Support help. :)

I've rolled back ATI drivers to AMD-Catalyst-14.7-RC1-Windows-July9 version and tested for 15-20 starts of CW2, AJE and EAW and every start was successful.
I have found that last time I updated drivers to AMD-Catalyst-14-9-win7-win8.1-64Bit-dd-ccc-whql at 13th October and I guess since that time I had atiumdva.dll errors.

This like issue was with Braid game and especially with newly released video cards.
Hope that this issue will be addressed to ATI and they'll fix it and include it in new ATI drivers.
