Why are gladiators stats so low?

Fri Feb 09, 2018 1:29 am

I'm having my first crack at the Spartacus Scenario and i'm a bit puzzled at the stats of my Gladiators (i'm playing as the slave army).
specifically the first three stats:
Offensive Fire 1
Defensive Fire 1
Initiative 10

Is there any particular reason the first two stats are so low and yet they have an initiative of 10?
I could imagine it being a little low if they didn't have very good weapons or equipment but all of the slaves that join my army have higher stats even though they would have similar weapons (maybe!)

Fire is almost irrelevant in ancient war model, the important value is the Assault value...which is at 9...as good as an elite Legion :indien:

doh !
I should of known this as i must of read the manual about a million times.
I guess i just looked at the stats and automatically assumed that the first two stats meant general offence and defence.
plus i havn't played this in a while (been playing ROP)

thanks for the reply, i feel much better about my Gladiators now, i knew they had to be better than what i had thought!
