Losses seem too high

Someone posted a screenshot of major victory over pompey. losses were 370 000 more or less, i guess wounded and routed/dissapeared are counted aswell but still it seems like 3x over the top. am i missing something or game just tends to be bloodier than it should be ? like EU4 for example

Some results may seem high, but overall, very historical. In evaluating the results which seem to be out of bounds, you need to weigh these with all results.
This is a game which uses probability outcomes, but there are also game events or player moves which might result in higher than expected casualties. I have marched into a hornets nest and lost everything.
