Supply question

Fri Oct 21, 2016 10:30 pm

Why are those 2 numbers in pic different? Some provinces have both numbers different but other provinces have same number. Why is that?

If I correctly understand your illustration, there are two types of supply: general and ammunition. These are independent of each other.

Those numbers next to grain symbol on the map are supposed to represent supply production in a region. Number which I highlighted in tooltip is supposed to represent same thing as well. In most cases those two numbers ( the one on the map and the one in tooltip) are same, but in other cases those two numbers differ. Why is that? Is it a bug?

I see what you are saying. Yes, it must be a bug. I cannot recreate it, nor have I seen it before your post. The one from the city, not the bubble, is likely correct.

Hi

If I recall correctly, the reason for the discrepancy is that the number next to the grain symbol is the "intrinsic" supply given by the region, but this is increased by the presence of the "Mercatus" in Damascus.

The supply number in the tooltip is always the real total supply produced in the region ("intrinsic" added to the one given by special structures)

I've noticed this in my games as well and at first I thought it was only the strategic towns that showed these discrepancies but now I also think it's probably related to Generals who are resident in that province.

When you toggle the supply map filter, each province shows the basic number of the supply production which needs to be then multiplied by different factors according to civilization level of the province, road presence, etc. Thus a tooltip number is what the province really supplies and not the supply map provincial icon number which is there as an indication of relative production. Could be done more elegantly then it currently is.
