Slow Movement - help

I played American Civil War but that was a long time ago, even so I dont remember this problem. I'm sure it has to do with cohesion or something, but I was hoping someone could clue me in.

After a few turns as Rome in the first scenario, when I attempted to move a province it went from taking a few days to 50 days or more. Why is that?

Thanks

Low cohesion lowers movement speed. Also, some units have movements penalties for leaving their home areas. (like African units that leave Africa for example). Either of these can make the movement times go way up.

Also, check that yor legion didn´t build siege engines. They do this automatically when sieging an enemy town, and the siege engines are not very movable. (Just drop them in a seperate stack, and leave them behind. They will dissolve on their own, and will be rebuild next time you siege a town).

It's the city militia you have in your stack. They move very very slow and are meant as purely defensive units.

Those represent the stack(s) of troops inside, more dots means a larger force.

Rain, also known as mud, can really slow down movement, and make a huge difference. Impedimenta slow down movement as well, but siege trains can stop your stack cold, especially of it rains.
