Exciting news! I still can't bring myself to spell "IACTA" with a J, though  - is that how they write consonant Latin 'I's in France? I've never seen it written that way except in very old transliterations.

Just noticed this thread, having had to re-register and I was thinking of suggesting a Rome game.

I don't care how difficult you make this game at the difficult level as long as you make the simplest level really simple.

My advice:

Drop the J - call it Iacta - like most others do. Or why not - "The Die Is Cast" or "Crossing the Rubicon" ?
Stick to AD/BC not the 'clever' AUC or ei addio or whatever Paradox did with their Rome game.

In other words - don't make your customers feel stupid - they pay the wages.

When will this game be released? Really interesting graphics and concept, and I think the AGEOD engine fits to the requirements and realities of those times quite well. I'm really looking forward to playing it

I am really liking the art style with the maps and the events sound really interesting and substantial. This game will be HUGE!

I will certainly buy RTW2 and am stoked for it but IJE will deliver the serious strategic gameplay while TW is a guilty pleasure. I am spreading the word over at the TW forum about IJE so hopefully some new players might wander over here and discover some serious Roman warfare.

This Is too Awesome. Is that Even Possible? By the way what is the effect of Going to Spain? How much better are the Spanish troops you could get?

Spain is where Pompey's veterans were located but the East was where the money was at. The Legions in the East were green. Big difference I would say and Pharsalus was the result.

hehehe...on the map it is, as you could derive from the earliest screenshots

i think there will be many situations when you will see plain words as well as historical correct names and latin names, depending how clear it has to be for the player... sometimes plain words should be favorable
