the more I play this the more I become convinced that RUS is one of the best strategy games I have ever played... and I have played many since the mid 80's. The AI in this mod is at level with Sid Meier's best efforts.

Next turn, late August 18

Volga: situation stationary at first glance but some region ownership changes around Penza are suggesting military activity between AI

Image

Kuban: large red Army is retreating to Armavir. I failed to catch them and they have beaten my forces assieging Armavir.

The Red relief force in the North has split, the largest part going back to Tzaritsyn. My cavalry force ( not visible) hasn't succeeded to cut their supply line.

Image

In the same time I retreat from Tambov, Red are attacking the Cossack stronghold

Siberian White AI moves are impressive. In my previous game I have found Red AI in Don is also good. But from the supply distribution bug (No Im not crazy! There is a bug ! ) Red and southern whites are negatively effected. I remember that I have moved all the Red stacks to Tzaritzin not to be out of supply even though I captured Azov and other strategic towns.

You're not crazy, but at least 1.02b gives me for now the possibility to play in the snow. It would have been convenient an official statement to be done about your point, acknowledging ou denying it, but as usual.... :D

Restarting a FY game after applying the 1.03 official version. :)

So August 18 as Southern Whites :D

Kuban: progressing to Ekateinodar, but Red AI is committed to save Ekaterinodar, garrisoned by a large force when Kamenev is coming from Stalingrad to the back of Denikin's Army.

Around Tzaritsyn:

I've cut the railroad but strong Red reaction menacing the 2 cities I'm holding.

Volga Front: Red AI against Siberian AI:

Siberian Whies have captured Ekaterinburg and are pushing on Samara/Penza/Saratov area

Next turn, late August 1918:

Denikin forces Red to rereat from Ekaterinodar, and a Cossack group stops Kamenev's drive.

Image

But Red AI has chosen to send more units from Tzaritsyn as my White Wolves have scouted their moves

Image

This Red AI priority for Southern Front is exceptional ( not the main outcome I devised) but normal :) . By checking the AI log file, I know this behaviour isn't a side effect of the new official version applied to my mod, but a strict enforcment of this rare AI plan :)

Situation on the Volga seems stationary but I've learnt this bad news:

Image

That's a feature of Fatal Years: each White factions gets some news about success and failures of the other White faction....

Early September 18:

While i send Krasnov Cossack back in Ekaterinodar, Denikin's Army faces Kamenev who has remained on the defensive. But, in the same time, some remains of the Red Kuban forces are approaching Azov.

Whites Wolves have tried vainly to cut the railroad but Stalin 's stack has beaten them, advancing toward Kamenev.

Image

In the vicinity of Tzaritsyn, Reds forces are overwhelming me. i've decided to move toward Tzaritsyn in order to create a diversion in the Red rear but I'm not sure it will be sufficient before such a mass.

Image

I've been informed Siberian morale is below 100.... :(

Next turn

I've chosen to deatch Martov's division and some armored trains fo reinforce Azov garrsion. These reinforts have come just in time to fight back Bolshevik attack. Kamenev remains idle, immobilizing my main army. Krasnov cossacks are now assieging Novosomething ;)

Image

Reds have concentrated yet more troops around Tzaritsyn, chewing up my stack. Stalin has been seen coming back to the north. I've lost precious men, but my diversion has maybe worked...Who knows what an AI thinks? :D

Image

Howewer, Siberian Whites news are really good. Reds can't be strong anywhere ;)

Perm and Ufa have fallen to Siberian Whites who are pushing far beyond the Volga

I believe there's a sizable Red garrison in Tzaritsyn, but I haven't be able to enter the Tzaritsyn neighbouring regions to verify :D

Early October 18:

Kuban:

I order Denikin to attack Kamenev's stavck and detach in the same time a cavalry force to cut the rail behind.

But Kamenev retreats toward Tzaristsyn, repulsing the cavalry force, when Stalin is coming to salsk but stopped by Denikin. I've earned 1NM, but lots 2,000 thousand men against 3,000 Reds.

Image

On the Volga, Siberian Whites are maintaining their positions. Howewer, Reds have reduced almost all the White insurrection between Volgda and Volga band...

Image

I've enrolled 20,000 more men in new units this turn. I guess I will need them soon.
