The Markov used before is perfectly fine, the new one from the Ice March from 1917 and the currently used ingame is from 1918. Then its a preference if you want half of the picture filled by a Shapka.
Currently used ingame.

Here are IMHO the improved leader Graphics form the recent posts. (Special thanks To Wijse and Orel)

unzip the attached zip file and place:

the individual Unit files in the RUS/Graphics/Units/ Leader Units folder. (You do not have to use all; You can use only the ones you like!)

the individual Army Files in the RUS/Graphics/Armies&Fleets/Leader Armies. (again you can use only images you like)

place the 2 individual mdl files into RUS/Gamedata/Models folder.... Then delete the File named 'Models.cached'. A new version of this file will be created the next time the game is started. Enjoy!

Ps: I also included Ulagai, Drozdovsky, and Ivanov from the previous few posts "Just in case Lodilefty is looking for them" :)

Amazing work!

Yes I totally agree... I just included them as an option... I am not sold on Tukhachevsky with the hat either but it is a matter of taste. If these ever get added to an official patch then it will be the developers decision which is better and the other can remain as a Mod.

How about the community decides? I can iclude both marking the new ones "new"

As has been pointed out, I'm not any kind of historian for this conflict, so guidance please!

Will certainly include the two new ones!
...and if you leave it to me, it will be all the new ones!

The Ice March was in 1918. The new photo of Markov is from 1918, since he was famous for his white Papaha(hat) and messy beard during the ice march.

The old photo of Markov is definitely before 1917, since he is wearing the epaulettes of a General-Major(2-stars) whereas in 1917 he was promoted to a General-Lieutenant(3 stars).

But I don't insist in having his photo changed, I am fine with the old photo.

I like all the new images but would probably leave Markov(w/hat) and Tukhachevsky(w/hat) as alternate graphic files. (just a gut feeling whatever you or the community decide is fine.) An alternate graphics folder for unofficial images might be nice. We can set that up here on the forum or perhaps a game subfolder. anyway thanks for looking into it. :)

Hi all,

I have most of the recent leader posts done...I have not verified all of them in game. They should work but there is always a chance that I did something stupid. I also apologize for some poor quality images; I did what I could. Finding 'all' mdl files is not easy. Anyway enjoy!

as before

unzip the attached zip file and place:

the individual Unit files in the RUS/Graphics/Units/ Leader Units folder.

the individual Army Files in the RUS/Graphics/Armies&Fleets/Leader Armies.

place the individual mdl files into RUS/Gamedata/Models folder.... Then delete the File named 'Models.cached'. A new version of this file will be created the next time the game is started.

(I have included a back up set of the original mdls in-case you want to revert back to Generic images)

Not much women here :crying:
They were in anarchist and makhnovist ranks (one reason why many reds and petliurists soldiers joined them lol)
Marusia :p ompom: Nikiforova,
if she's ingame with her small armored train with sailors unit,
thenafter with her core unit of 2 cavalry fanatics elements:
The attachment Nikiforova.gif is no longer available

She may had died later in 1924.
While several biographies of Nestor Makhno have been published, there is little mention of Nikiforova. This is despite their close collaboration, and her greater contemporary prominence, according to biographer Malcolm Archibald: "...in 1918 Nikiforova was already famous as an anarchist atamansha (military female leader) throughout Ukraine, while Makhno was still a rather obscure figure operating in a provincial backwater."

Alexandrovsk under siege by advancing Red Army forces to the north, Makhno's anarchists to the east, and subversion by Nikiforova's Black Guards from within, the nationalist army retreated from the city on January 15, 1918. The city shortly came under Bolshevik control. Makhno's forces arrived within days, altering the balance of power in the anarchist's favor.

With Alexandendrovsk secured, Nikiforova and her new ally, Nestor Makhno, held a meeting with the Bolsheviks. Backed by their Black Guards, the duo negotiated to become anarchist representatives in the city's new Revolutionary committee. At the beginning, Maroussia and Makhno have allied her on common grounds of anarchism, and later Maroussia has begun to accuse Nestor of ignoring the anarchist ideas. She called him for a bloody struggle against the exploiters and Ukrainian nationalism

Nikiforova was appointed to the position of assistant deputy, but within weeks Makhno stepped down in dissatisfaction with the group's lack of radicalism. The pair would operate independently as military commanders in the future, but worked closely and often pooled resources in pursuing an anarchist revolution.

I am back again... With 4 General sets that repalce Generic images... Also enclosed in a seperate folder are alternate images for Bogaevsky. I like this image better than the in game version but it may not be as accurate. Feedback would be appreciated.

Rus 4 generics.png

EDIT-Popov issue corrected in Post #175 Nov 20 2012 (thank you El Nino!)

once again:

unzip the attached zip file and place:

the individual Unit files in the RUS/Graphics/Units/ Leader Units folder.

the individual Army Files in the RUS/Graphics/Armies&Fleets/Leader Armies.

place the individual mdl files into RUS/Gamedata/Models folder.... Then delete the File named 'Models.cached'. A new version of this file will be created the next time the game is started.

(I have included a back up set of the original mdls in-case you want to revert back to Generic images)

Also, the alternate Bogaevsky images need no new mdl; just overwrite the coresponding images in the Unit Leaders and Army leader folders.( I would recommend backing up the originals)

all the best! EDIT ----(IMPORTANT SEE POST #175 FOR POPOV CORRECTION POSTED ON NOV 20 2012)

Rus 4 generics.png

This is about it for now; many of the images left are either of Generals not in game (ERISS I would have loved getting Nikiforova in game) or of a poor quality that I have been unable to salvage. Special thanks to all the image posters... and of course to Lodilefty.

This Popov is Ivan Danilovitch Popov, general Lieutnant who lead the 2d Don Corps in 1920. He's a WH2 leader (strange, he would be better a DON leader).

Here is the correction for DON Popov and WH2 Popov. Original DON Popov included for anyone that changed the image to the New WH2 version. WH2 replaces a Generic image not the original DON image.

Sorry for the confusion :bonk:

Popov correction image.jpg

place the individual Unit files in the RUS/Graphics/Units/ Leader Units folder.

place the individual Army Files in the RUS/Graphics/Armies&Fleets/Leader Armies.

place the mdl file into RUS/Gamedata/Models folder.... Then delete the File named 'Models.cached'. A new version of this file will be created the next time the game is started.
