Great pictures of these generals. I like the un-stylized pics of generals like Ghai-Kan (mustache or no mustache?), Yakir (the pic being replaced was a post RCW pic), and Zinoviev (I'm not sure about that recent pic of him). No need for propaganda pics when you don't know who is going to win

Hayk's first name is sometimes given as Gaia, Гая, or Gai, as well as Ghaia or Ghai; the patronymic is sometimes spelt as "Dimitrievich" or "Dimitriyevich" or "Dmitriyevich"; the last name also spelt as Bzhishkyants (Бжишкянц ;) ; in Polish sources related to Polish-Soviet War he is referred to as either Gaj Brzyszkian, Gaj Dimitrijewicz Gaj or Gaj-Chan (Khan), or Gay-Khan (English spelling). His first name, Гайк, is a Russian transliteration of "Haik", which was further corrupted in various Latinizations.

I think there are duel or many names according to different language terminology. Gai Khan as Hayk Bzhishkyan? 'Khan' generally refers to the title.

here are both Ghai-Khan images.... you can use whichever image you like better. The improved original or the alternate... just drop or paste them into the corresponding folders listed in the included 'read me'.

Damned... hard to chose the game official one . The New alternate is maybe more like "from the battlefield" but the meta informations of the picture are clear : it is a photo from the 30s, just before Stalin purged him. So even if it is the best one, it is not a "proper" one unless we don't have better. I finally saw a date for the improved original : in is from the 20s. Obviously, he got already the 3 same medails he have in the new alternate picture from the 30s. We could supposed that he had already done its 2 big campaign, the Volga and the Poland. The uniform looks like a cavalry one. If i understand the bios he was commanding a cavalry corps during the Poland campaign. So we could suppose that the alternate one could be from 1920 or little more. So this one is the one that could be for the game. About the new one proposed for Grigory Zinoviev (1883–1936), a Bolshevik revolutionary and Soviet politician ; are you sure you not mixt with Georgi Zinovyev (1887–1934), a Soviet military leader ?

Есть еще одна ошибка.

Эта фотография - не генерала Ончокова (WH3B.F. Onchokov), а полковника Ушакова!
Вот тот же снимок, но с аутентичной подписью.

Translation:
1st photo is of Juna-Id-Khan, the current photo for him in game is actually a photo of Ibrahim-bek.
2nd photo: The photo is actually of colonel Ushakov, not Onchokov.
3rd photo: A bust made from a photo of General Imshenetsky.

I was laughing reading his ingame bio: he seems being immediatly shot by his own troops.
Translation by Orel of the russian wiki:
8 June 1919, after the removal of Makhno from command, the place of the commander of the 3rd Zadnepr( translates as beyond Dnepr) fusilier brigade was given to head of the military area Krusser. 9 June he issued an order proclaiming himself as the commander. Died on the night of 9-10 June 1919 when his armored train was caught under machine gun fire.
(...) Magnificent example of the Red army commander: (...) so much loyalty to the Red cause!

As he was so loyal for the Red, then he was sent to command Makhno brigade
to assure the control, but it was his doom.

Of course his own troops killed him. Makhnovists were loyal to Makhno, not the Soviet cause and were happy to provide the ticket to hell to their new commander.

If you want a more amusing story, look-up Schors, who was also murdered by his own men, which was reported as "death from enemy fire" until a couple of decades after when they realized: "Hey, the bullet hit the skull from the opposite side!!!". But he was still a hero when it came to stamps :) .

It seems not his troop, but Cheka ('a commissar')
being ordered to assassinate him discreetly (why? his glory shadowed a bigger head?).
Stamps, and his music is in the game:
