Ask to Steam, who does not want RUS. What an honor!

As long as the MP function isn't STEAM-compatible, there's really no incentive to get it anywhere but on GamersGate. or similar.

Yep, Steam versions divide the pc game community, as Steam multiplay is compatible with nothing: Steam players can only play with other ones Steam players.
Steam is actually a curse on the pc game. Before, we could choose how to play (hamachi, etc), now we can play with almost nobody as almost all pc players have been borg'ed by Steam.

True, but it also cuts down on piracy.

Releasing a game on Steam is also a good way to market it, as not all gamers will subscribe to multiple vendors, such as GamersGate et al.

Only because the titles were under Paradox Interactive umbrella and steam could not 'afford' to reject them...but the other titles, even presented as Paradox France, were refused...strange behavior, especially when you consider an "old" title like AACW sells much more than ROP or PON combined !!!!!!

So that's why AGEOD ended up under PI...

It may be for Ageod games have beta patches, what Steam can't control. Like Medieval2 was the end of free modding for the TotalWar serie and thereafter TW games were Steam-only.
But Steam, to please its consummers, now build beta patching or modding tools, but under the control of its DRM:
Game devs have to work for Steam for free by preparing their games for the Steam environment. If they don't want to be Steam-dependant, devs put their Steam customers in an illegal situation (they can loose their Steam account, all their games) if they want their game to evolve...

So does Paradox games, like Hearts of Iron 3 and others. There's always some poor sod with a Steam-version of the game that's left out when those with non-steam copies of the game get the semi-annual betapatch.
