Lol, what a propaganda movie!: Red Army cavalry was not the best in this war. They always flee the fight, but they were good (as all other cavalry) to finish fleeing infantry. The legend of a good Red cavalry is when they followed the already retreating Denikin white army from Moscow in end 1919.
Real good cavalry were Makhnovists and White cossaks, and they all mock the Red one. Polish lancers were real good too.
Red Cavalry had to give up their horses for armored cars to finish the makhnovists who were already fighting 1 vs 50 ratio (then 1 vs 7 when many Red soldiers joined them or disbanded).

Well of course it is propaganda This is just a version of a Red recruiting song, I will have to look to see when film was made but much later. Song is not about cavalry though just saying how strong red army is and is fighting for workers to stop the black baron white army from bringing back tsar. And I agree red cavalry was horrible!
