Gold upgrade kit question

Do I need to install any patches before I install the Gold upgrade patch?

so because of the newest patch ROP have got is the 1.04a, and the upgrade kit i bought and installed in my ROP main folder is if i'am not wrong 1.01....
so hope all patch features these patch of the upgrade kit has got would work as the 1.04a did on ROP(old)....
or am i wrong?
