Turn 15 results

Wed Dec 15, 2010 4:32 am

There were no battles this turn (the weather must have dampened thoughts of attack). I draw your attention to an odd occurrence. If you look below, the CSA thinks that the union has captured Louisville, while the Union thinks the town is not controlled. The point difference for this game is currently 301 in Manstein's favor. This dwarfs the difference from the other game (hosted by Daxil).

Confederate:

Orders - Joe Johnston + 4 divisions are moving by rail with orders to assault Norfolk this turn. The AOM is formed in NO by AS Johnston. Manstein sends more reinforcements to Memphis. Due to the large movements by rail this turn, Manstein orders construction of 100 locomotives.
Purchases - 100 RR
Replacements - 1 Inf

This last picture shows the state of the AOP HQ unit. The confederates have purchased no replacements for HQ units yet, and so it has taken damage, and is in no fit condition for fighting.

Turn 17 results

Wed Dec 29, 2010 12:12 am

There were 2 major and 1 minor battles this turn. Both major battles occurred in Norfolk VA. As a result, the confederates lost approximately 12,000 men (including the retreat hits). The union lost only 6,300 men. A very bloody 2 day battle, which the south can not afford for long. The confederates went from fewer casualties to almost even this turn.

Turn 18 Results

Sat Jan 08, 2011 3:35 am

I forgot to mention that the CSA had event "The Trent Affair" part 2.

During this turn, both sides honored a Christmas truce. There were no major or minor battles. FI is up 11 points due to the embargo.

As we come to the end of 1861, we can reflect on the carnage. Manstein is up 235 points (on this half of the campaign), as well as 15 NM points. FI sits at 40 (not a bad number for the end of 1861). There have been over 98,000 combat losses. The union has managed to capture Norfolk, but not much else, and has had an army (trapped around Richmond) and a command of 12,000 (river assaulting Memphis) destroyed during combat. The confederates have almost as many losses (not a good sign), without any major disasters. NM has see-sawed up and down during the course of the campaign. A new year beckons the combatants to more bloodshed, as neither side wants to concede defeat.
