Daxil will have to clarify, but don't the players play 2 matches in any given round, one with each side?

Yes, and it's by e-mail unless there is a more high tech 3d version of aacw that I'm not aware of, so modem speed wouldn't become an issue.

Timing sucks for me sadly :crying: I will be most of June unable to connect to the Internet. Maybe next time then, sigh...

Just a note: we potentially have a mystery participant of high-ranking stature who will be playing in this tournament. If he/she does they will be granted an automatic first-round bye and made the tournament's no 1 seed. This will mean 30 is the cut-off. We have 22 confirmed right now. Everyone else will be playing the first round against a random opponent attempting to procure the widest margin of victory as possible as it will affect your seeding position. The no 16 would be playing the no 1 and so on.

I would want a few more specifics about how this works...

Is there a time commitment (meaning, does one have to commit to at least a turn a day to join, does excessive lapse of time without a turn equal eviction, etc)? If neither side concedes, does the game keep going until the victory screen? I am thinking a tournament for this game, with PBEM, could take a LONG time to complete.

These are basically the rules here:
http://www.ageod-forum.com/showpost.php?p=112065&postcount=4

We'll alter versions and scenarios, of course. Yes, it does take a long time, there's one that this is overlapping, in fact. In order to expedite it we'll be playing both sides simultaneously in the first two rounds - meaning you'll be playing two games at once, one as the South, on as the North. It was found in the first tournament that that made the most sense as players would just sit on leads if you played them chronologically.

Aphrodite Mae m'a demandé de servir d'intermédiaire franco-anglais pour les joueurs francophones du tournoi. Je me ferais un plaisir de répondre aux questions des joueurs francophones via PM.

Very interesting idea indeed -- I am uncertain if I would want to commit, so maybe sometime in the future. I will be watching closely from the sidelines for this one :)

Just four more spots, but as I said, hopefully we'll go over because I guarantee we'll need backups.

Ok, we have 30. If anyone else wants to sign up please do so. You'll be alternates in case someone drops out. It will take me a day or two to re-do the rules and assign match ups etc. I'll post here and also contact you by e-mail with the process.

CRAP! I was so busy smacking down the AI in solo player I forgot to check the forums and missed out! No one could have withstood my superior wargaming skills and that free game would have been mine! :) Oh well, put me down as an alt, bigguz@netscape.com

Cheers!

I'm going to go ahead and pull out, just going through a bad time right now. Luckily, our game hasn't progressed past the initial sending of orders, so you can put a replacement in without missing a beat.

Ok, I've contacted your opponent. Sorry to hear you're having issues. CWNut77 is next in line as a replacement.

Cobra and Guz: you're alternates 2 and 3 right now. Please stay tuned its quite possible we'll need you.
